It’s no secret that I’m a big ExpressionEngine fan. I’m really excited to get started using EE 2.x on projects, but the one thing holding me back is add-ons. I’ve never written an add-on, but I use tons of add-ons that others have written. With that being said, I ended up porting over a couple of add-ons to work with EE 2.x:
-
First, I modified Matthew Pennell’s Scroll to Comment Extension. When a user submits a comment, they are scrolled down to the newly added comment. You can find the EE 2.x compatible version on GitHub. -
EE Default CP Tabs
We loved using LG Add CP Tabs in order to add a tab for Structure for all users. As we were getting our EE 2.x template site setup, we noticed that this extension wasn’t converted yet. I made a slight modification so that you only get one textbox to add tabs instead of multiple boxes broken out by member group. You can find my EE 2.x compatible version on GitHub.
My hope is to eventually get this site converted over to EE 2.x, and I think the only add-on holding me back is the eeFlickr Module.

08.17.2010Trevor, I’ve never used the Flickr module, but for EE2 have a look at Phil Sturgeon’s Rest module, which can pull data of Flickr using their rest api.

I remember seeing that module when it first came out, but totally forgot about it. Thanks for the reminder!

Unless you think people still want to be able to assign tabs per member group.
